BRIE CHEESE

INGREDIENTS

- 250 gr brie cheese wheel

- 6 whole walnuts cut in fourths

- 6 medjool dates pitted and halved (approx 70 grs)

- 1 Baguette thinly sliced

PREPARATION

First, preheat the oven at 400°F.

Next cut the Brie in two parts crosswise, like if you want to make a sandwich. Now, we open it and on one inner side we will cover it with the nuts in pieces. On the other inner side we lay the medjool dates pitted and halved. Finally, we close it, press slightly, just to keep everything in place. Put it in an ovenproof shallow dish and cover. Take it to the oven,  place it in the middle for 15 minutes.

After 15’ remove from the oven and serve immediately. 

Serve with baguette slices.

TIPS

  • Brie has to be refrigerated until you are ready to prepare it, this makes it easier to cut.

  • To cut the brie, first make an indentation all around with a sharp knife, like marking where you want to go. Then use a long enough string like hugging it and done!

  • Use the creamiest brie you can find.

  • Serve as soon as it comes from the oven to enjoy at its full.

  • Use oven proof gloves.
