CHICHA MORADA

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 gr purple corn 

  • 1 lt filtered water 

  • Peel of 1 pineapple

  • 1 cinnamon stick 

  • 4 cloves 

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice 

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar 

  • ½ apple peeled and diced 

  • Ice 

PREPARATION

First, in a pot add 300 gr of purple corn, ½ liter filtered water, peel of 1 pineapple, 1 cinnamon stick, 4 cloves and  let it cook to boil  for 30 min approximately until you obtain a dark purple color extract.

Turn it off and pour it through to a strainer, discard the peels and corn. Let the extract cool down, you can use the refrigerator if you wish.  Once cold,  add 2 tablespoons  lime juice, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, Mix it together until the sugar is dissolved, add some ice and ½ apple chopped in very small  dices.  Now  it’s ready to drink!

TIPS

  • Cook on high heat until the liquid turns dark purple.

  • Keep it in the refrigerator until ready to serve as  it’s better cold.
